## Air Conditioning Module: General Settings

### Overview
The "General" page within the Air Conditioning (AC) module allows for the configuration of essential parameters that manage the interaction between your KNX system and the connected air conditioning units. These settings help ensure proper communication and operation.

### Key Parameters

- ***Ac brand***: Defines the manufacturer of the air conditioner. Selecting a specific brand filters the available options in the Ac/remote model list to ensure compatibility. This parameter helps narrow down the correct infrared protocol for your unit.
- ***Ac/remote model***: Displays the available remote control models based on the selected AC brand. If Not selected is chosen, you can manually select or learn the protocol in the Ac protocol parameter. When a specific model is selected, the Ac protocol is automatically assigned and becomes read-only.This setting ensures the correct protocol variations are applied for different models of the same brand.
- ***Ac protocol***: Specifies the infrared communication protocol used by the AC unit. This is the most critical parameter for proper operation, the selected protocol must match the one used by the air conditioner’s remote control.
When Ac/remote model is set to Not selected, this parameter can be manually chosen or detected automatically using Learn infrared protocol.
- ***Physical output selection***: This parameter allows you to choose which of the three physical infrared output ports on the device will be used to transmit AC control signals.
Each output corresponds to an independent infrared emitter on the hardware. By selecting one or multiple outputs, the gateway will send the generated infrared data through the selected ports simultaneously.
- ***Learn infrared protocol***: Allows the gateway to automatically detect and learn the AC’s infrared protocol. To use this feature, point the original remote control toward the infrared receiver on the gateway and press any button. The system will analyze and store the detected protocol for use in communication with the AC unit. This button becomes active only after the device has been addressed in ETS.
- ***Bus recovery action***: Determines the behavior of the system after a power outage. Options include:
  - **Send last saved values to AC**: The gateway sends the last saved values from its memory to the air conditioning unit, ensuring the system resumes its last state.
  - **Run scene 1-4**: A predefined scene is triggered to restore the system to a specific state.

- ***Send feedback for own commands***: When enabled, the gateway sends feedback to the KNX bus for the commands it transmits itself. Normally, feedback is generated after receiving confirmation from the infrared receiver of the air conditioner. However, if no infrared receiver is connected, the gateway cannot physically verify that the command was executed. In such cases, this parameter allows the system to still send feedback objects to the KNX bus, ensuring that visualizations or control systems reflect the expected state, even when no IR feedback mechanism is present.
- ***Feedback on startup***: Enables or disables the sending of all feedback objects to the KNX bus after a power outage, ensuring that the system status is correctly communicated.
- ***Delay for feedback on startup***: This setting allows you to specify a delay (in seconds) before the feedback objects are sent to the KNX bus during system startup. This can be useful to stagger the transmission of feedback to prevent bus overload.
- ***Power control object***: Activates or deactivates the object responsible for controlling the power (on/off) of the air conditioning unit.
- ***Power status object***: Activates or deactivates the feedback object that reports the on/off status of the air conditioning unit.
- ***Disabling object***: Activates or deactivates the object that disables the gateway's control over the air conditioning unit.

## Purpose
- To configure the basic communication and control settings between the KNX system and the connected air conditioning units.
- To ensure proper recovery and synchronization after a power outage, maintaining system stability and reliability.

## Usage
This page should be configured during the initial setup in the ETS software. Adjust the parameters based on the specific requirements of your air conditioning system to optimize performance and ensure accurate control.
